Engineer

Recording Engineer David Johnson has extensive experience as an engineer, composer, performer, and producer. He is registered as a writer/publisher with SESAC, and his compositions and productions have been heard on NPR's All Things Considered and college radio stations nationwide. He is currently the resident composer for all Hyatt.com websites.
His most recent productions, Sanawon's 'Bonfire Night' (Ona Records) and Favorite Saints 'The Ways We Echo' EP (Play Favorites) have been played on WXRT's local anesthetic showcase, which features the best of Chicago's up and coming music. David co-wrote and co-produced Very Secretary's critically acclaimed album 'Standing in the Shade' (Mud records) and was featured prominently as guitarist and vocalist with the ensemble.

David has also produced demonstration recordings and releases for Chicago bands, songwriters, music students, and voiceover for promotional materials. Equipped with dedicated studio sound and control rooms in an Andersonville two-flat, he operates Tricycle Sound Studio as a full time venture. Eschewing the notion that big recordings only happen in big studios, Tricycle Sound offers the critical ear of a veteran musician and technical skill of a creative engineer to help you achieve your desired sound.
